Why We Built a Singapore-Specific Calculator Hub

Generic finance calculators apply US or UK formulas to Singapore numbers, and the results are wrong. Singapore’s rules are distinctive: CPF allocation rates change by age band, ABSD depends on residency and property count, TDSR and MSR cap borrowing differently for HDB and private homes, and Budget announcements shift thresholds every year.

SGFinanceCalculators.com exists to get those details right. Each tool is coded against the official rules published by the CPF Board, IRAS, MAS, HDB, LTA and MOM, and updated when those rules change.

How Our Calculators Are Built and Checked

1. Primary sources

Rates, ceilings and formulas come from official publications: CPF Board, IRAS e-Tax Guides, MAS notices, HDB and LTA schedules. We do not copy figures from other calculator sites.

2. Precise maths

Money calculations use the Big.js library to avoid floating-point rounding errors. Edge cases are tested: age bands, citizen/PR/foreigner rates, wage ceilings and relief caps.

3. Worked examples

Before publishing, results are checked against worked examples from the official source. Each guide shows its sources so you can verify them yourself.

Rules are reviewed after each Singapore Budget (February) and whenever an agency announces a change. Each calculator page shows its own “last updated” date.
